About The Church of Christ
What is the Body of Christ? What is the Church of Christ? Is it a building or a cathedral? No! This is one of the most widespread misconceptions about the Church. The New Testament Church is not a building...it is people. What kind of people? People who have been called, out of the world, into the Body of Christ (Colossians 1:13-14). The Body of Christ is made up of those who have received Jesus (John 1: 11-13) by virtue of their obedience to the Gospel (Acts 2:38-42). When one becomes a follower of Jesus Christ he or she becomes a member of His church (Acts 2:47). A new life a new beginning (2 Corinthians 5:17) a personal relationship with the Godhead (Matthew 28:18-20). God’s people are known by their love for one-another (John 13:34-35). In a congregation of God’s people a person can grow spiritually (1 Peter 2:2) and by faith produce works that will bring God glory (Matthew 5:16).
