If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (James 1:5)

Answering the Skeptics -- July 17, 2007 -- Genesis 5:21-24
What the scriptures Say:
“And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with god: and he was not; for God took him.”
The Skeptics Complaint:
John 3:13 does not allow for this as it says:
“And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.”
The Answer:
If you take this passage into context (John 3:11-13):
“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.”
Jesus is not talking about people who have or have not ascended to heaven, but he is talking about the fact that no one has ascended to heaven, and then returned to tell about it.
Conclusion:
When you put the scripture into context you see that there is no contradiction.
