Billy Bob and Splitting The Church The Right Way
Billy Bob Bookme
The One True Church
Where I Am, USA
I was talking to uncle Bob the other day and told him about a split in one of the Cut Them Off churches. Being a preacher I can gather a lot of pertinent facts on the matter from people who are reliable sources. I told him the split was over false doctrine being promoted. Uncle Bob replied, “my boy, please let me explain how politics work in the Cut Them Off churches.” He went on to say, “most of the time when there’s a split in one of the True churches it’s because of “In Fighting, Jealousy, Struggle for Power, or just plain Differences of Opinion. In the Cut Them Off churches we always struggle to appear to be 100% pure in doctrine. We will cut a person off at the drop of a hat unless it’s a beloved relative or close friend. If a split does occur then we as preachers will attribute it to a “doctrinal” matter and our fellow preachers who write in the One True Church Paper will support us. The brethren that have opposed us, that wouldn’t line up, will become the “scape goat or fall guy” and will get the blame and we as preachers can walk away blemish free. Remember Billy Bob, never stray to far from your faithful preaching brethren who write in the One True Church Paper if you wish to continue your preaching career and to book those all important gospel meetings.”
I asked uncle Bob this question, “don’t you ever feel in the Cut Them Off churches we are to fanatical and unreasonable in our fellowship?” He replied, “yes, I’ve considered that possibility.” He went on to say, “he was studying the subject “A True Christian Can’t Fellowship Sin” and after the study he almost disfellowshipped himself!” We laughed a bit then I told him what brother Right had to say. Brother Right said, “there are five Cut Them Off churches in the area where the split occurred and he could only preach at one of them as the others are to liberal.” Uncle Bob replied, “it’s a good thing the apostle Paul wasn’t brother Right or the churches in Corinth would have died soon after being established. With all the error going on at Corinth brother Right would have cut them off immediately.” He went on to say, “as holy as brother Right is he probably won’t feel at home even if he reaches heaven because to many of the sinners saved by grace will be there. Most of the folks there won’t be near as holy as he is. I doubt he will be comfortable!” I told uncle Bob, “it sounds like brother Right is so heavenly holy he is no earthly good!”
