Brother Billy Bob coming at you with another truth from the Bible.
I have been asked to address the subject of the "office system" which exists in Africa. By "office system" I mean a power base in the American church which places preachers in positions where they will be controlled by the sponsoring church for the purpose of controlling the congregations under their control. The purpose is to see to it that the desires and views of the American sponsoring churches and especially the views of faithful preachers are maintained. We might simplify the idea by saying, "it is a desire to control the African churches from America."

A number of brethren are maintaining that this is no more than digression, liberalism, worldliness, politics and down right sin! Some are arguing that, "if we are not going to tolerate digression in the communion why do we tolerate it in church government?"

Let me give a few examples of my feelings on this matter. I pay a certain amount of money for a car and get the car I desire. If I want a TV I purchase it and get the one I want, etc. What's the difference in that and paying the preachers in Africa to do and say what you want them to? Look at it this way, the American churches put up money that goes to preachers in Africa so why shouldn't the sponsoring church be able to control them? If we preachers are going to be the hirelings we desire to be shouldn't we be controlled by the dollar? Think about it a minute, you work on the job, do what you are told and get paid. So a preacher preaches and gets paid by the sponsors and says and does what they say.

There are some good points about this arrangement. You don't have to study much as your directions are handed down to you from faithful brethren who we all can trust. If you do what you are told and don't create waves (by that I mean, don't practice or teach personal convictions, if you have any) you will draw the paycheck believing you are serving God and brotherhood. You will have your opportunity to be popular, well received, and called faithful. You can book meetings, which gives true meaning to ones life. By the way, while I'm at it, have you considered booking Billy Bob for your next meeting.

Now back to the original subject. What about the "office system" that exists in Africa where the churches there are controlled by the American sponsoring churches? Well, let me say right here, "it doesn't exist!" I deny it all! In the words of one very famous scholar, "I didn't do it, you didn't see me do it, you can't prove a thing!" There isn't any digression in the one true church! We are the only church in the world where there isn't any sin, error, misinterpretations, misrepresentations, or false teaching. Let it be known to all, "we are as perfect as you can get while still being in the human body. Other churches are digressive, liberal, worldly, sinful, unholy, and denominational but not us! We have a corner on all truth and know all things worth knowing. What we don't know about the Bible isn't necessary to know in the first place. All important matters have already been discovered by our faithful brethren.

I hope you good brethren don't disagree with anything I'm saying to the point you won't let me hold a meeting for you! If I have offended you and you are going to drop my name from the meeting list just remember, "I'll change my mind!" By the way, what are you paying these days for a good meeting?
